We’re looking forward to the summer months, when we scale back some of our activities and amp up others. So as of this week, we’ll be moving to a bi-weekly publication schedule for Next7, as follows. This normally weekly newsletter publishes on Thursday or early Friday morning, depending on the demands and activities of the week. To ensure your event is included in the issue that covers it, please submit it to the Community Calendar by the previous Wednesday at noon. Thank you!
Publication schedule — Summer 2023
6/23 — Events thru 7/6 (Submit by noon, 6/21)
7/7 — Events thru 7/20 (Submit by noon, 7/5)
7/21 — Events thru 8/3 (Submit by noon, 7/19)
8/4 — Events thru 8/17 (Submit by noon, 8/2)
8/18 — Events thru 8/31 (Submit by noon, 8/16)
9/1 — Events thru 9/14 (Submit by noon, 8/30)
9/15 — Back to normal weekly schedule — please submit by noon Wednesday to be included.
In general, we recommend submitting at least two weeks before your event’s start date, so that our visitors can see it as many times as possible.
How to submit your event
It’s easy! Go to the Community Calendar for Lauri’s List and click “Submit Event” at the top. You don’t need to log in, and you don’t have to be a member to post. We’re looking for “classical vocal events”, meaning those that
- Include singers in a significant way
- Are classical-leaning, which might include gospel, jazz, performance art, etc.
- Takes place in Southern California, or is available online.
There is no charge to post your events, but we do reserve the right to reject events that don’t seem to be a good fit for our readers. But we’d love to hear from you, and feel free to contact us if you have questions.
