Next week marks the start of spring, and I have a little suggestion:
Whether or not you made New Year’s resolutions this year, it might be a good time to pick something NOW to change between now and next spring. Spring is a time of rebirth, renewal, energy and inspiration. We’re also facing a lot of that in the arts world, as events and opportunities continue to increase and grow.
So what needs to be new with you? What single thing can you change that’s within reach and will change your outlook on the world? Because we all know I like lists (seriously, you got that… right?), here are a few random suggestions to kick-start your goal-making brain:
“As of right now, I will…
- …say nice things to myself every morning.”
- …drink herbal tea after 3pm.”
- …write a personal blog post every other day.”
- …work out with a buddy once a week.”
- …meditate for 15 minutes every night before bed.”
- …journal for three pages every morning.”
- …send a friend or family member a handwritten note every week.”
- …throw out four things a day.”
- …learn a new major work every month.”
- …grow my skills by taking a new webinar every other week.”
- …limit TV, movies, videos and games to just three hours a day.”
You get the idea. But please don’t try to do all of these, or all of your own list, all at once. Change can be good, but keep it meaningful.
Happy spring!
