The arts are starting to wake up a bit

With changes in California’s state policies and the cautious reopening of a few iconic venues (who’s heading to Hollywood Bowl this summer?), performing arts presenters are finally starting to see the light at the end of that long, dark tunnel. Foundations and service organizations are looking around for attitudes and answers, with multiple surveys (big and small) circling the country. Have some opinions to share? Start here:

The Ongoing Impacts of COVID-19

Do a quick Google search for “arts survey covid” and see what else you come up with — there are quite a few out there. While the surveys may serve as a canary in the mine to see how performers, orgs and their audiences are feeling about opening up again, the very existence of such questioning is a good sign. It’s also a nudge to start actual planning, if you haven’t already.

The bottom line, at least for this particular diatribe: Don’t forget to put your vocal-related events on the Lister Calendar. (There’s a “Submit Event” button at the top.) We’re anxious to see what you’re up to!
