Making it easy to bring music into life

You may know that I’m a big fan of Jason Kottke and his blogger buddies. They’ve been exploring the phenomenon of “book playlists”, i.e. suggestions for listening while reading specific titles. I’m truly fascinated by the way people use music in their daily lives, especially when it extends beyond the mindless filling of random silence. As music marketers, how can we create and offer hints at how to bring our recordings into the lives of our fans, and even listeners outside that circle?  This list-based approach could be an interesting format, particularly if it mixes your own music with others, and is curated in interesting ways.

I’d love to see what some of you could come up with.  Anyone want to venture into crafting a playlist of your own?  Feel free to share in the comments, or send it to me, and we’ll consider putting together a little follow-up to promote the music and creativity of our Listers.  (And yes, that pun is very much intended!)
