Groundhog Day

What does February 2nd have to do with classical music?

You don’t want to be a mere copy, do ya?

Maybe nothing. Or maybe it’s a reminder to watch one of the funniest and most enduring films in many years. Maybe it’s a holiday designed for random distraction. Or maybe it’s just an annual headline opp for large rodents.

But it could be so much more than that. As of now, we’re treating it as a reminder to NOT be the same. To find what’s individual about your company or your individual work and make something new. Take that centuries-old music and do something new with it. Write something on your own, just to see if you can. Find your purpose, not just your place. And as you plan your projects into next season, and the next, and the next (because you’re planning ahead, right?), remember that you don’t have to live the same season over and over again. And the rest of us are looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
