New advertising rates and options as of July 1

Have a summer project, auditions or a season announcement you want to draw attention to?  Our advertising rates will go up slightly as of next month, so booking your ads now will save you a few bucks.  You can purchase your contract anytime, and then have us publish later.  And of course, planning ahead is always a good thing!

Here’s a rundown of the new rates for advertising with Lauri’s List:

Dedicated Emails — $120 each

Reach our mailing list in a very focused way,  with an email blast that’s all about you. You provide the copy, images and links, and we’ll build it and send you a draft for approval — you’ll be fully involved in the process.  Please allow one week’s notice if possible. We only allow one of these blasts per week, so plan ahead to reserve your spot.

Banner ads on the site — $38/week, $129/month

Give us a display ad up to 180 x 500, and we’ll display it on the website on one or more of our most high-traffic pages.  The rate is per page, and we’ll make it clickable, linking the image just about wherever you wish.

Enews ads — $20 each

Add a full-column banner to our newsletters, and put your message right into the hands of our devoted readers.  We have two weekly newsletters and a more frequent update that goes just to our full members.  Pick one or a combination — we’re simplifying this rate, so the ads are just twenty bucks each, including optional headline, link and a couple lines of text, if you wish. We’ve also eliminated our change fee:  if you’re placing ads in more than one blast, you can make each one different if you wish, at no extra change.

Design services

Of course we’re happy to do simple things like resizing or cropping an existing image for you.  But if you need more help, we can also design a banner ad or rotator slide just for you, usually for a mere $35 per design.


Submission guidelines

  • Set up your ad and reserve your space as early as you can — we recommend at least two weeks ahead, so you have time to approve a mock-up.
  • Contact Lauri to reserve your spot.
  • Send the best copy of your image that you have available — it’s easier for us to recrop and size down if needed, but if you send a small file and we need something larger, you’ll have to scramble to find another file, or the result won’t look so good.
  • Because all of our work happens up front, payment is due at the time of order, not after the ad has run.  We’ll send you an invoice to get things started. Advertising payments are accepted online by a variety of methods.
  • Don’t be afraid to give us a budget and then let us work up a plan for you: while we don’t discount our already rock-bottom advertising rates, we may be able to come up with a creative way to combine ad methods within a lump sum.  Tell us what you need, and let’s find a way to make you look great.

What should I advertise?

Most of our advertising is related to classical vocal-related events and auditions. Special offers, if included, might include ticket or application fee discounts, a special rate for services, or an add-on offer for mentioning “the List”.

While we reserve the right to refuse any ad, we would consider offers for products and services that would be relevant to our readers’ life in music.  This could include ads from photographers, stylists, copyists, teachers & coaches…  you get the idea.
