
After 45 years, conductor John Alexander is retiring as artistic director of Pacific Chorale, and his final concert in that role is this weekend. John has been an influential force in Orange County, whether teacher at Cal State Fullerton or running the area’s premiere choral ensembles.
Alexander is handing the baton to friends and protege Robert Istad, who has served as assistant conductor for the Chorale for a decade, and was also the maestro’s successor at CSUF.
