Hi, folks! Just a little housekeeping:
As many of you know, the full members with Lauri’s List have access to some resources and areas of the website that others cannot see. There are a variety of reasons for this, and most of them should be quite obvious.
Please bear in mind that sharing your login with non-members so that they can access these areas is not allowed by our Terms of Service. It is an unfair use of the website, on several levels, and is actually prohibited by federal law, under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. If a member is found to be offering their membership privileges to others, that member and their cohorts may be permanently banned from the site. This applies to teachers and individuals as well as leaders of groups and organizations. Regardless of how well-meaning your actions may be, this behavior is unacceptable.
This is not an attempt to protect revenue, but to protect the resources that other Listers are investing in through the proper channels. If you have concerns about an eligible friend or colleague who needs resources but cannot afford a membership, please don’t hesitate to contact us. There are many ways we can help, without drifting into this territory. Your goodwill is a good thing. It just needs to be handled so that it doesn’t affect others unfairly.
