We are so saddened to hear of the sudden loss of soprano and longtime Listerina Cindy Martineau, who passed away after a heart attack on Friday, June 10. She was sixty years old, with a warm heart, sparkling voice and a laugh that filled those around her with joy.
An active member of the vocal community for many years, Cindy was a veteran of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and many esteemed performing organizations all over Southern California, as well as working in numerous churches and temples over the years, most recently as a regular staff singer at St. Matthew’s Church in Newport Beach. The family announced her loss online over the weekend, with this message:
Dear friends and family,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our favorite ball of sunshine, Cindy Martineau.
Yesterday morning (6/10/2016) she left this world to be with her Lord for eternity. While we will miss her, she is out of pain now and experiencing the joy of her eternal reward.
If you would like to help with her final expenses, including a memorial service, please feel free to use this page. We are thankful for all the love, generosity and support we have received from her plethora of pals. She loved you all so very much.
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2nd Corinthians 4:16-18
We will be announcing information for her Memorial Service once arrangements have been made. [see below]
Thank you for your support and love for our momma.
