Breaking: LA Master Chorale gets big gig this weekend

We know that great musicians are athletes.  LAMC just got an invitation to be right where they should be.

This just in…  SoCal arts orgs are getting national attention via sports twice in a week. With the Olympic marathon trials taking place this Saturday, who else should sing the national anthem but our own superstar choir?  Representatives for the award-winning Chorale confirmed Thursday night that they’ll do the honors this year, kicking off the race at Staples Center.  This follows Sunday’s appearance at the Super Bowl by Gustavo Dudamel and the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (YOLA), showing off what LA has to offer in grand style.

Go team, go!  Press release follows.

  1. Hear hear! This from LAMC’s General Manager on the day:

Very proud of the LA Master Chorale this morning - the singers rocked the National Anthem for the opening ceremonies of the US Olympic Team Marathon Trials this morning - and the singers even got to hang with LA Mayor Eric Garcetti. Good luck to all the runners!
