Lauri D. Goldenhersh’s Weekly Highlights

It’s a quiet week, as the Labor Day holiday will give musicians and audience members a last chance to officially enjoy summer. Lauri’s List returns to our weekly newsletter schedule next week, so we’ll be ready for the new season. In the meantime…

This Saturday night, catch the NOVÉ DEYPALAN SINGERS with a concert called simply “Bellissima”, at Zipper Hall. The concert starts at 8pm, and you can learn more by clicking here.

You can learn a few new things, or see opera singers in learning mode as they learn to think “From the Conductor’s Perspective” with masterclasses on Saturday and Sunday with maestro PETER MARK, both in Santa Monica. There are also two more on Sept 12 & 13, and you can enroll as a participant or an auditor — get details and sign-up instructions by clicking here.

Coming up

Opera takes over in just over a week, as PACIFIC OPERA PROJECT, LA OPERA, RIVERSIDE LYRIC OPERA, REDLANDS OPERA THEATRE and more kick off their new seasons.

The SAN GABRIEL VALLEY CHORAL COMPANY lives through legacy with the “Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Project” on 9/15, in Monrovia.

And there are dozens more intriguing events in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned, have a fun-filled weekend (whatever that means to you), and as always, thank you for supporting live singing!
