Now in its 17th year, the annual “Opera in the Park” event hosted by the Palm Springs Opera Guild of the Desert comes up this weekend, featuring nine rising stars of opera — you’re sure to recognize at least a face or two: top to bottom above, the featured performers are Lauren Michelle, Alexa Jarvis, Anna-Lisa Hackett, Shabnam Kalbasi, Joshua Guerrero, Moises Salazar, Arnold Livingston Geis, Nicholas Brownlee and Ben Lowe.
Based on what we’ve seen of some of these singers in recent months, that’s quite a lineup. (We managed to find websites for most of the artists — click on their pictures to learn more.)
The event is free, but for a small donation you can reserve a spot in the shade (highly recommended, but act fast). Make a day of it and soak up the future of opera.
