SOUTHERN CA VOCAL EVENTS Lauri D. Goldenhersh’s Weekly Highlights

Happy Holidays!

The big day is coming, which means that just about everything scheduled for this weekend is somewhat related to Christmas:

There are ‘Messiahs’ ala Handel from the LONG BEACH CAMERATA SINGERS (in Long Beach, of course); INSPIRAVI (in Glendale); and the LOS ANGELES MASTER CHORALE (at Disney Hall); plus more all over the Southland — be sure to check the websites for the churches near your home, as there are bound to be more Handelian celebrations that weren’t sent to us.  While you’re at it, keep an eye out for Evensongs and other special events — ’tis the season!

Get your holiday in gear with a concert from PACIFIC CHORALE; carols with SPACIOUS VISION;  or make ‘A Joyful Noise’ with LOS ROBLES MASTER CHORALE.

Continuing

Thru 12/20 — PACIFIC OPERA PROJECT’S ‘La boheme’ continues through this weekend, so grab your tickets if you can.  This enormously popular production returns, and could anything be as good as ‘Boheme’ at Christmastime?  To get your Puccini on, start with the trailer

Thru 12/20 — Daniel Catàn’s ravishing ‘Florencia en el Amazonas’ has four remaining performances, but the show’s getting such good reviews that tickets are in high demand.  Take are of that sooner rather than later…

Thru 12/20 — MEISTERSINGERS OF OC comes ‘Home for Christmas’ with one final seasonal concert this weekend.  Click here

Music, of course, is the best way to set the tone for any holiday.  Check the calendar, pick your poison, and have a wonderful time!  And as always, thank you for supporting live singing — we’ll see y’all in the new year!
