It’s time for a few changes and some new legalese, and this is your official heads-up. (We know you’re thrilled.)
As of July 15, 2014, a revised version of Terms of Service (TOS) for Lauri’s List members, users and visitors will go into effect, as well as a couple of changes to our membership fee structure. The TOS applies to LaurisList.com, LaurisList.net and Singerpreneur.com, as well as other communications and activities related to the List and our Lister community.
Most of the TOS changes are minor formatting and syntax edits, but the most significant alteration is that members late in paying their renewal fees may now be subject to a $10 reinstatement fee. This is at the discretion of administrators, due to the additional work involved with downgrading and then reinstating delinquent accounts.
However, as many of you already know, we work hard to offer some flexibility to renewing members who want to continue their membership. Members in good standing can request alternative arrangements such as extensions, split payments and other options, making it easier to keep up with the community, even when cash flow is an issue. Just contact us and let us know what your situation is, and we’ll see if there’s something we can do for you.
New rates
We’re raising the annual membership fee by just $5 a year (in the first basic increase since 2010), and we’re bringing back the List-only membership, allowing eligible Listers to purchase a listing in one of our specialty directories (a.k.a. “add-on lists”) without buying the full membership. This means that approved singers who would like to make themselves available for church or temple work, for instance, can advertise their availability on our site for just $25/year, per board, subject to the usual eligibility requirements. List-only members don’t have access to the members-only areas of the site or the members’ email updates, but can take part in a more specific way for a nominal fee. Here’s a list of the new rates, effective 7/15/14:

The links above will be active only until midnight on July 14, 2014. Further changes may be made with or without notice. We’re making a special effort to notify our members and users of these changes so they have a chance to renew at the current rates, if they wish. All renewals, reinstatements and new members will be subject to the new rate structure as of July 15, 2014.

The new lists for Catholic cantors and keyboard collaborators, as previously announced, have been “back-burnered” indefinitely, so we can focus on serving our core membership. We’ll take a look again at some point in the future. If you’re interested in one of these lists, contact us to be added to a notification list, so you can sign up when they’re ready to roll.
