Baroque music at the Doheny Mansion is the perfect seasonal balm for the soul
Renowned soprano Ellen Hargis will be joined on Sunday by an elite ensemble of Baroque specialists, including Carla Moore (violin), John Dornenburg (viola da gamba) and Jillon Stoppels Dupree (harpsichord), in a concert hosted by the Da Camera Society of Mount. St. Mary’s College.
The organization’s Chamber Music in Historic Sites series is a highlight of the calendar each year, with top-level performers appearing in a wide variety of spectacular spaces all over Los Angeles. This weekend’s concert is no exception, as the group brings a lush chamber program to an equally resplendent Doheny Mansion. The estate is one of LA’s oldest and finest architectural gems, located near what is now USC. Take this opportunity to view the unforgettable home and the surrounding grounds, as well as to listen to some truly sumptuous music.
