![]() Lawyers’ Phil and Legal Voices prove Forget the lawyer jokes. In Los Angeles, at least, our lawyers serve an artistic purpose beyond the tort and court. The LA Lawyers’ Philharmonic has performed more than 30 concerts and events since their 2009 launch, raising funds for those who cannot afford legal services, and entertaining a devoted following in the process. The orchestra and its affiliate chorus, Legal Voices, which joined forces in 2011, are comprised not just of lawyers, but judges, law students and legal staff, and have together been dubbed “LA’s Only Legal Orchestra and Chorus” by the County of Los Angeles. The groups are founded and led by attorney/violinist/conductor Gary S. Greene, Esq., who has led the groups in performances for sold-out crowds at Disney Hall and across SoCal. The chorus is led by our own Jim Raycroft, and includes quite a few Listers who also work in the legal field. You just never know where you’ll find a fellow musician. This Friday, 12/14, LALP serves up its gala holiday concert with a diverse program that includes Bach, Mozart, holiday favorites, and favorite songs for Christmas and Hannukah. This family-friendly event is budget-friendly and serves a good cause, and the central location at Wilshire United Methodist Church doesn’t hurt, either. Regardless of what you’re celebrating, this concert would be a warm start or finish for your happy holiday. Los Angeles Lawyers’ Philharmonic Friday, December 14, 7:30pm
