Hidden Gem: Bend in the Road

To Rome With Love

Redhead makes good

(OK, so we’re a little biased!)

Beloved children’s novel re-emerges as Lister-authored musical

A small town at the turn of the century is turned upside-down by a freckle-faced, precocious bundle of imagination.  If you haven’t read Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic tales of Avonlea, or if you can’t get enough, now’s your chance to see Anne Shirley, Gilbert Blythe, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, and of course, Rachel Lynde, the biggest, lovable gossip you’ll ever see.  This show is family-friendly and packed with good music that puts the singers through their paces. Penned by Benita Scheckel and Michael Upward (both accomplished and multi-talented members of the List community), this production has been a long time in coming.  But support is already strong:  previews and fundraising efforts have been met with enthusiasm, and this initial run looks to be a strong start for a new repertoire staple.  Bring your family!
