This will eventually become a regular feature, but we’re carefully pondering the best format, and experimenting a bit — stay tuned! For now, send congrats and good vibes to these, our Lister peeps:
We’ve said our fond adieus to Kathleen Roland (right), her husband, Merrill Silverstein, and their daughter, Emma, as they find their way to Syracuse, NY. Kathleen will be joining the faculty as Assistant Professor of Voice at Syracuse University College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Merrill is the first to hold the Marjorie Cantor Endowed Professorship, as part of the Aging Studies Institute at Syracuse’s Maxwell School. No doubt Emma will find plenty to do, too, although we don’t have the details… All the best to you all!
One of our former members, Christopher Holloway, joins the vocal faculty of the University of Tampa this fall. (He’s been in Florida for quite a while now, and it apparently agrees with him!)
Dabney Ross Jones (right) is a soprano who lights up the stage here and abroad, and has spent the summer surrounded by the spirits of Mozart and more at the prestigious Salzburg Voice Festival. Welcome home, Dabney!!
More kudos around the community:
wildUp LA has recently been honored as the Hammer Museum’s first-ever orchestra-in-residence. The work will continue through December 2012, and will include three full orchestra concerts, 25 chamber concerts, and what sounds like a musical installation? For the original announcement, click here.
