Beaucoup bijoux

…in a very busy week

The highly complex and pressure-filled workload this week makes it impossible for us to do our normal thing: we’re taking the week off from the column in Jim Eninger’s newsletter, and keeping this one short and simple.  But I’d like to mention a few events worth special note:

Celestial Opera returns at a mad pace with ‘Lucia di Lammermoor” in South Pasadena.

Amanda McBroom lends additional wattage to the star-studded premiere season of the Friends of Music series at Northridge United Methodist Church.

Vineyard Opera tours the town with ‘Tosca‘.

Irresistible tenor Piotr Beczala performs at the Broad.

Alchymey performs in Manhattan Beach with a new, mixed-voice group and a very smart program.

The John Alexander Singers and the LA Master Chorale show off equally intriguing programs, duking it out in two different counties.
